# Figuring out your strategy is the same...

Hey Reader,

Lately, I have been talking and thinking a lot about strategies.

Because 1) I am reworking my strategy and 2) almost all of my clients are doing so too. They are either starting a new business and need to work out the strategy or rethinking their businesses and their strategies.

And that makes total sense. It's important to regularly check your strategy with what you are doing and where you are going.

Because I'm talking about strategy so much lately, I started seeing a trend. I realised that from a strategy perspective, it doesn't matter if you are starting a new business or reviewing your current one. You are working through the same topics, just on different levels:

1. **Positioning & Branding**
New: who am I for, what do I do, what is my messaging?
Reviewing: the same questions, look at what you have and if that still fits with what you want to portray
2. **Products & Services**
New: have at least 1 product or service you can sell
Reviewing: going through your products and services to decide what stays and what goes, what needs a makeover and what you might want to add
3. **Setting up selling**
New: Setting up the technology and information to sell and take care of your clients (sales pages, email funnels, course platform, etc)
Reviewing: Checking the technology to see if it still works or if you need to change things
4. **Work on trust**
New: How are you going to build trust? How will you lead people to your product or service?
Reviewing: What funnels do you currently have? Do they still work with the renewed products and services? What needs to change?
5. **Content towards trust**
New: How will people know you exist and start liking you?
Reviewing: What channels actually help people find you? Which don't? What do you need to remove, change or add?

Yes, this is a very simplified version of what is going on, but in the end, this is what is happening.

I am currently working on #1 & #2 at the same time. My positioning is done, the branding is almost finished and we are working on a new website to go with that.

But to do that I want to also go through my products & services and see what is staying and going. And yes, things are going to be different and at the same time, not so much (don't you love vague descriptions here ;) )

One of my clients is working through #1 right now as she is reviewing her business and where she wants to take it. Another is looking at #1 & #2 as he is starting a new business. A third client has #1 worked out for her new business but is unsure that #2 is working out as planned. She was also trying to work on #4 & #5 right now, so we decided to pull back a bit and figure out #2 & #3 first.

What section are you working on right now?

**Warmest wishes,
Natalie**
