# Make your automations feel more human

Hey Reader,

You’ve probably got at least one email automation set up.

A welcome sequence. A freebie. A follow-up.

Does it sound like you?

I’ve noticed that a lot of automations are written from templates that flatten people’s voices.

They miss the humour. The weird analogies. The way *you* would actually say it.

If you get an email that says:

**“Here’s your free guide!”**

or

**"Hey there sailor, this free guide than a PDF. It’s a permission slip to build your business your way. I made it because you deserve tools that don’t make you feel like you’re drowning."**

…which one tells you more about the person behind it?

...

Exactly.

So let's work on that right now.

Pick 1 email in 1 automation. I’m not asking you to overhaul everything. Just choose a starting point:

- 📨 **The freebie delivery email** that gets ignored or barely opened
- 👋 **The first welcome email** that sees a lot of unsubscribes
- 🧩 **The follow-up email** that feels a little too templated and not quite like you anymore

Then ask yourself:
**What could you change to make it sound more like*****you*****?**
Like you’re actually talking to a real person?

It can be as simple as:

"This is the part where I give you something useful and tell you why I care." (And then… actually tell them why you care.)

That one line sets the tone.

It reminds people there’s a real human behind the system and makes it feel more like a conversation.

You don’t need to rewrite the whole sequence. Just start with that one email.

And if you try it, I’d love to hear how it goes. Hit reply and let me know.
