Hey Reader,
Last week, we officially moved over to a new project management tool at Digitalie.
The decision had been made a few weeks before. After months of research, testing, team discussions, and more than a few moments of "wait, are we actually doing this?". But last week was the moment of actually doing it. No going back.
And that's when the fear really showed up.
Not the "this is a terrible idea" kind of fear. More like all the feelings at once. Excitement and dread and overwhelm and a little bit of "who do I think I am, spending this much money on a tool?" All wrapped up together, arriving right on schedule just as we were doing the thing.
Here's what I've realised about growth: it comes in spurts, and then you have to catch up as a person. The decision can be completely logical. The research can be thorough. The team can be on board. And the fear still shows up anyway, because something real is changing.
I think that fear is actually a signal. Not a stop sign. More like a "this matters" sign.
I also want to be honest about something else that came up for me. Moving to this tool as a team means acknowledging that I'm no longer doing this alone. I have people I can give the work to. We can decide together who is best for a certain project. We have more capacity, more structure, more opportunity to work well with clients. That's a good thing. But it was a new thing, and letting go of control is hard.
I'm sharing this because I think you know that feeling too.
I see it in clients and potential clients all the time. The moment before they decide to invest in a new website, or move their email marketing over to Kit, or hire someone to finally connect all their tools properly. That same mix of "I know this is the right thing" and "what if it isn't though?"
That feeling doesn't mean stop. It usually means you're about to grow.
Hit reply and tell me: is there something in your business right now that you know you need to do but keeps feeling too scary or too expensive? I'd love to know.
