# The invisible stuff that's quietly costing you clients

Hey Reader,

Here's a question most business owners can't answer: when did you last actually test your website?

Not look at it. Not scroll through the homepage. Actually click the buttons, fill in the forms, check the links, and walk the full path a potential client would take.

For most people, the honest answer is: it's been a while.

And that's where things get quietly expensive.

Because websites don't announce when something breaks. There's no notification, no error message in your inbox. Your contact form just stops sending. A button starts going nowhere. A plugin that connected your site to your email list quietly stops syncing. A page that looks fine on your laptop is a jumbled mess on someone's phone.

Believe me Reader it happens to all of us. The important thing is to check regularly.

So here's a quick list of things worth checking:

**Your contact or sign-up forms.** Send yourself a test message right now. Does it arrive? Does the confirmation page work?

**Your buttons and links.** Click the main ones. Do they go where they're supposed to? Especially any buy buttons or booking links.

**Your site on mobile.** Pull it up on your phone. Is it readable? Does anything overlap, hide, or break?

**Your sign-up or purchase path.** Walk the full journey from landing page to confirmation. Where does it get confusing or clunky?

**Any tools that connect to your site.** Kit forms, payment integrations, booking tools. When did you last check they're actually syncing?

None of this takes long. An hour, maybe less. You can ask your VA to do it if you have one.

Most people just never do it because the site looks fine from the outside. While looking fine and working properly are two very different things.

If you want a structured way to work through this, the Website Vibes Check covers the technical side alongside the bigger picture stuff. It's free and it's a good place to start.

But if you want our help, Reader, whether that is for checking the site or fixing the issues, we are happy to! Tech Hours are for those small fixes and checks, no big project required.

Next week: what does your site actually need, and should you do it yourself or get help?
