# Why Your Marketing Tools Aren’t Working Together (And What to Do About It)

Hey Reader,

I was chatting with a business friend about workflows, and it hit me — too often business owners hire an expert for each tool in their marketing arsenal: someone for quizzes, someone for email, someone for websites… and while that seems smart on the surface, it can create a big, messy puzzle with missing pieces.

Here’s the thing — most of the time, neither one of those experts nor the business owner has the complete overview of what should happen and what is happening. As a result, the different tools don't work together as effectively as they could. Your quiz sends the results to your email system, but your email system doesn't use it most effectively; your calendar looks great on your website but doesn't add people to the right systems when they book, etcetera. Everything *sort* of works, but it could be so much better. Worse, you might even be losing potential customers because things aren't flowing smoothly.

That’s why it’s essential to have someone in your business who sees the big picture, whether that’s you, a team member, or someone you hire.

**Here is an example:**

*"The connection I wanted to make between Scoreapp and Convertkit was not possible with my limited account, so she came up with something else that made it work. I should have sounded the alarm much earlier, it would have saved me hours of work."*

\- Marjolein

Marjolein was spending time and money trying to get ScoreApp to connect with ConvertKit-Soon to be Kit and wasn't getting anywhere. We talked through what she wanted first. After looking at both tools, I found out that the integration she wanted wasn't possible with her account. Instead, we added Zapier to bridge the gap, so now she's able to get the data into ConvertKit and properly segment her subscribers.

Imagine if she had just stuck with the default setup. She would have had a brilliant quiz on her site but could not have tagged the subscribers in the email marketing system in a way that nurtured the leads afterwards. Those missed connections might have cost her paying customers.

I am not saying you shouldn't hire tool experts; you definitely should. But make sure you also have someone who sees the full picture and has the know-how to make your systems do what *you* need them to do. Someone who can map out the workflow that you want people to fill in the quiz, and then be segmented in different groups based on that and get some emails, and if they buy a certain thing they get removed from those emails, but still end on your newsletter list, etcetera.

And when everything is working together the way you want it to, it will unlock a new level of ease and succes in your business.

So whether you have that overview or you need someone to step in and connect the dots, I'm here to help you [bring those pieces together](https://digitalie.eu/product/pick-my-brain/).

Let's make your tools work for you, not just exist in silos.
