I created this [Notion Template for the Engineering Strategy Model](https://aleixmorgadas.notion.site/Engineering-Strategy-Template-910ad428d3d14c5a9aef4a4c32c4a8ba) to help people get up to speed on Strategy and aim to waste the less time and resources possible and design good and actionable Engineering Strategies.

### Template Sections

- **Context**: In which context the Engineering Strategy was designed.
- **High-stake business problem/challenge**: These are the main high-stake challenges we need to overcome from the business point of view. The Engineering Strategy needs to serve our business goals instead of *only* the engineering goals.
- **Collaborative understanding**: Involving the team members in collecting the correct information and situational awareness of where we are and our current risks and challenges.
- **Direction**: Leadership can provide the proper focused Direction to overcome high-stake challenges.
- **KPIs**: Able to measure the strategy progress. Important to notice that we need to measure progress instead of reaching the moment where “we finished the strategy.”
- **Coherent Actions**: Along with the team, collaborate to create Coherent Actions that can make the Direction a reality. The Coherent Actions need to be led and executed by the team members instead of only leadership/management positions.
- **Timeline**: When the Coherent Actions are started, this helps to have a timeline visualization of the progress.

- The team is the primary vehicle to drive Engineering Strategy instead of only management positions.
- Leadership to understand the team's needs, the business's needs, and the stakeholders’ needs to come up with the right Direction.
