*****This week:****What happens when the life you've gotten used to suddenly starts feeling like your old life again, why****23 of 26 people****in a small liver-fat analysis saw a big change, and the very strange moment of****not recognizing yourself****on your own doorbell camera.*

### THE BIG QUESTION

# Forgetting How Life Was Before a GLP-1

Two years is a long time—long enough that life before a GLP-1 can start to feel like something that happened to someone else.

One GLP-1 user recently shared what happened after stopping the medication due to cost: the hunger came back, but so did **the constant thinking about food.** And that’s what really stood out.

They hadn't been walking around every day thinking, *"Wow, this medication has changed my life."* The change had simply become normal. Quieter mornings, easier decisions, and less headspace spent on food eventually just feel like regular life.

Then something changes, and you realize how different things had actually become. That’s the strange thing about slow change: **you can get so used to feeling better that you stop noticing that you're feeling better.**

**One important note:** This is one person's experience, not a reason to stop or restart a medication. If you're thinking about changing your treatment, always talk with your prescriber.

**What has your GLP-1 quietly made easier?** Not what you hope will change—what is already different?

***

### 5-MINUTE WIN

# Write Down What You'd Miss

Take two minutes tonight and write down **one or two things that feel different now** since starting your GLP-1.

Maybe it's food. Maybe it's quieter mornings, more energy, or simply moving easier.

- **Don't** write down goals or what you *should* be doing.
- **Do** write down what is already true.

Some changes become so normal that you forget they were changes in the first place.

### FROM THE COMMUNITY

# "Who's the Lady on My Ring Cam?"

One of the stranger non-scale victories people talk about is catching their image unexpectedly on a security camera or group photo and thinking: *"Wait. That's me?"*

The mental picture you have of yourself **doesn't update at the same speed** as your physical body. Your clothes and scale weight change, but your brain takes a little longer to catch up.

Not every non-scale victory has to be a smaller clothing size. Sometimes it's just a funny, disorienting moment of seeing yourself from the outside and realizing you look different.

### RESEARCH WATCH

# 23 of 26: A Small Liver-Fat Finding Worth Reading Carefully

Researchers recently looked at GLP-1s and liver fat, and a few key numbers caught our attention:

- **The Result:** Average liver fat dropped from **8.8% to 3.1%** after 72 weeks of semaglutide. Of 26 people who started with liver fat above 5%, **23 dropped below that level.**
- **The Catch:** This MRI data came from only **55 people** out of a larger 1,919-person trial as a follow-up analysis, not the main study goal.
- **What We Don't Know:** Without a detailed placebo comparison for this MRI group, we can't say how much change came from semaglutide versus weight loss itself. It also measured **liver fat only**, not the reversal of liver scarring.

It’s a big change worth watching, but future research still needs to tell us if lower liver fat leads to better long-term liver health.

### WAIT, WHAT?

# Your Grocery Cart Might Be Quietly Changing, Too

A 2026 PwC survey found that **44% of current GLP-1 users** are buying more fresh produce, while **61% buy fewer sweet treats** and **56% buy fewer salty snacks.**

When you're eating less overall, **what you choose to eat matters more.** A GLP-1 curbs appetite, but it doesn't give your body the protein, fiber, and vitamins it still needs.

Instead of asking *"Should I eat more vegetables?"*, try asking: **"What do I want this food to do for me?"**

- Give me protein & fiber.
- Keep me satisfied.
- Make dinner enjoyable.

### GLP BRIEF CHEAT SHEET

- **Study to Remember:** **23 of 26 people** with liver fat above 5% dropped below that level after 72 weeks of semaglutide (exploratory subgroup analysis).
- **Mistake to Avoid:** Assuming gradual progress means "nothing's happening" just because it stopped feeling dramatic.
- **Practical Rule:** Ask **what you want your food to actually do for you**, not just how much of it you're eating.
- **One Thing to Try:** **Write down one positive shift right now** before it simply becomes your new normal.

***

### THE BOTTOM LINE

Change that happens slowly has a strange way of disappearing from view. You stop noticing quieter mornings, missing food noise, and things feeling easier.

Getting used to something that once felt difficult **is its own kind of progress.**
