# Don't be like me and BSOD your machine, just update your fan curves

I've been putting off updating my fan profiles in [Fan Control](https://getfancontrol.com/) which got updated with the new back end because of the [WinRing0](https://www.theverge.com/report/629259/winring0-windows-defender-fan-control-pc-monitoring-alert-quarantine) flaw.
And my computer crashed from overheating, probably because the GPU fans were not spinning at all, or like at 10% while I was gaming.
So don't be like me and take the time to pair your fans properly after Fan Control updates.
